We’ve spent a lot of time this summer updating and organizing our Fellowship Hall. We have renovated the restrooms, cleaned out and organized the pantry and closets, built a new storage room for commercial size refrigerators & freezers and painted the entire Fellowship Hall. Help us celebrate all the hard work with a Covered Dish Luncheon on Sunday, August 26th immediately following our 10:30am worship service. Bring your favorite dish to pass and enjoy some wonderful fellowship in our bright and welcoming Fellowship Hall.
All are welcome!
Our 2nd annual Back to School Splash is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th from 11am - 1pm here in our parking lot. Join us in celebrating the new school year with the children of LPCA, our neighborhood & community! There will be a giant waterslide, crafts, games and food.
Please bring your friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren! All are welcome! If you’re interested in volunteering, we’d love your help too! Contact Donna Pruett with any questions.
Volunteers are needed this week sorting and pricing items from 9am to noon Monday—Thursday. Even if you only have an hour or two to spare, any time would be huge help. You can still drop off your donated items next week as well. Bring them to the Fellowship Hall Monday—Thursday from 9am—12 noon. Contact the church office for more information.
The Evelyn McLaughlin Scholarship Fund was established to assist young people who are members of the church with the cost of secondary education. Please contact the office for further information about the scholarship and to get an application. Completed applications for the fall semester are due in the church office
Join us for Qigong Exercises and Tai Chi with Heather Mitchell!
Heather has been attending Tai Chi classes with us and elsewhere off and on for the last 4 years. She is a talented artist who teaches classes and shows, but she is now carving out time to lead exercise classes for us here and also on Wednesday mornings at Breathe Yoga and Wellness Center on E. Cervantes near Scenic Highway. She is working toward certification as an instructor. - Remember to share with others the benefits of this type of exercise: it helps not only balance and core strength but also cognitive function. If done regularly 2-3 times per week it has proven benefit in reducing falls. It is safe even for frail elders and can be done in a chair.
